I'm few steps away to finish the biggest diorama i've done so far. It is for an illustration commisioned by a bakery supplies fabric, and I can't wait to see it completely done and take pictures of it :D. As always, all the elements in the diorama are made of diverse materials, such as paper, light wood and cold ceramic.
here are some sneak peeks of this project :)

The Chief Baker gets his haircut...

so does little Piaf...

and finally... bread :).
I really love this technique, it allows me to work with materials in a less traditional way, and when you take the photographs of the diorama is like creating a little fiction, a little reality with living creatures. I was fascinated by Fontcuberta's " El Beso de Judas" a book about how photography can be used to deceive us because we take for granted its reliability as a "truth machine". Obviously my little dioramas aren't as sophisticated as the many cases described in that book, but they are my humble way to approach that concept. Also I'm a huge fan of stop motion animation, I like , again, the idea of giving live to something that is apparently soulless (animation -
animatio "giving life or spirit").
